IEM's railroad Laser Wheel Profilometer maintains quality control for wheel profiling and conformance with wheel specifications. 

 
 
 

IEM's LaserProf scans up to 5.65" across the flange and tread of a wheel to record the complete wheel profile and provide measurements of flange height, flange thickness, and flange slope.  The data can be downloaded toa spreadsheet program for analysis of the wearpatters.
