Himalayan salt lamps, when heated with a candle or light bulb, emit a negative ion which binds to positive ions (air pollutants) this causes them to lower the ground level, leaving the fresh air. Negative ions are believed to produce beneficial biochemical reaction in our bloodstream that increases level of serotonin.
