Oats - an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the family Poaceae. Stem of a plant is a straw diameter 3-6 mm, flowers clustered in spikes. Fruit of oats - a weevil wrapped floral leathery scales. There are about 40 species of plants, most of which grow in Eurasia, in countries with temperate climates. Oats is the main cereal crop in Russia, Canada, Poland and Finland.
The most common type of grass on the farm - oat, oats, or ordinary. Of grain plants make oatmeal, flour and oatmeal. For the production of food grains oats receive special treatment - peeling, steaming and grinding. In several types of commercially available cereals: crushed, rolled, and not ground, which are different manufacturing techniques. By flattening oat grains make oatmeal (porridge), which are very useful for the preparation of cereals, since they do not require long cooking.
