Appearance: white crystal or crystalline powder, slight odor.
Hygroscopic: hygroscopic, and exposed to the air will deliquescence may even liquefied. Soluble in water, ethanol, alkaloid solution and diluted mineral acid, almost insoluble in acetone or ethyl acetate. L-carnitine easy to deliquescence, it is generally used its L-tartaric acid salt (in terms of L-carnitine-L-tartrate salt of L-carnitine coefficient 0.68). Hydrochloric acid salt, tartaric acid salt and citric acid magnesium salt as a commodity.
Melting point: 185 ~ 195 ℃ decomposition.
