2, 2, 4-Trimethyl-1, 3-pentanediol diisobutyrate (TXIB) is used as a plasticizer for the manufacture of flexible plastics especially for soft surface product such as PVC leather and shoe production. It is insoluble in water and has a good stability to heat and ultraviolet light, a broad range of compatibility, and excellent resistance to hydrolysis.
