    Zirconia is stabilized in the cubic crystal structure to avoid cracking and mechanical weakening during heating and cooling. In addition to their refractoriness, they offer low thermal conductivity and are electrical conductors above 800 ℃. They also possess the unique ability to allow oxygen ions to move freely through the crystal structure above 600 ℃.

    Added yttria gives zirconia more strength and lowers the chances of cracking from impact compared to standard zirconia, alumina, and silicon nitride ceramics. If cracks do occur, they will not spread, extending the life and reliability of this material.

    YSZs high density, low porosity, inertness, toughness, super hardness and pestle effectively eliminate product contamination and is chemically inert to all acids make it the perfect material for making zirconia mortars and pestles.

    Zirconia mortar & pestle are finely hard for grinding tough materials. Theyre low contamination & anti-corrosion materials, also good for high-temperature applications.
