Electrically Calcined Anthracite (ECA)
Product Description
ECA is produced when anthracite is electrically calcined under the high temperature of 1700-2200℃ in vertical shaft furnaces to obtained a devolatilized and partially graphitized product. Calcining is controlled to achieve specific resistivity characteristics, generally in the range of 550-750 ohm mm2/m.Raw materials for ECA are selected from TaiXi Anthracite Coal which is well-known for its low ash, low sulfur content and are processed by floatation before calcining.ECA is used as an ingredient in the production of cathode blocks for Aluminum Industry, and applied as tap-hole filling in special ferroalloy furnaces. It is also used as recarburizer in the production of steel-making because of its comparable quality and competitive price.
