The clutch cover function has three main functions:
(1) Ensure that the car starts smoothly. After the engine starts, before the automatic start, the driver first steps on the clutch pedal, releases the clutch, disconnects the engine from the transmission, and then shifts the transmission, gradually releasing the clutch pedal, and gradually engaging the clutch. During the engagement process, the torque blocked by the engine gradually increases, so at the same time, the accelerator pedal should be gradually pressed, that is, the fuel supply to the engine should be gradually increased to maintain the engine speed at the lowest stable speed without stalling. At the same time, as the meshing tightness of the clutch gradually increases, the torque transmitted from the engine to the drive wheels through the transmission system also gradually increases. When the traction force is sufficient to overcome the starting resistance, the car starts moving from a stationary state and gradually accelerates.
