Florestal Alimentos S.A. came into  existence in 1936 in the city of Lajeado, Rio Grande do Sul State, with a  handmade production of hard candy. A general  improvement placed the company in a fresh stage by following an actual  industrial model based on high investments in technology and human  resources, constant product launchings, opening of new markets as well  as a new market friendly policy.  The company then  took over the leadership of the Brazilian lollipop market, gathering  several corporate prizes throughout the decade. The company's actual installed capacity  is of 210 tons of candy and lollipops a day, a result of years of  investments in state-of-the-art technology. In the last decade, the launching of new  products became more frequently which along with a renewed market  policy gave the company room to conquer new markets reaffirming thereby  its position in the sector.
